Class requirements: Student must be between the ages of four and twelve and be able to read or have parents willing to help them memorize their part. This class teaches the fundamentals of acting technique through the use of theatre games, improvisation and scene study. Students will master memorization, projection, diction, facial expression, emotional believability and body movement through the use of scenes taken from plays based on classic
children’s stories and fairy tales. Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows full
range of movement and gym shoes or a rubber soled shoe. A short break will be given during
each acting class. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase or the student may bring
a snack from home. Parents and friends are welcome to attend the final class to see the
students perform the scenes they have worked on during class.
Class Fee: $40 per student
Class Limit: 12 students

taken Beginning acting or had prior performance experience.This class focuses on
characterization and script analysis through the rehearsal and exploration of monologues (solo
speeches). The monologues are taken from a broad spectrum of plays and represent both
modern and classical time periods. The instructor will assign a monologue that is designed to
stretch the student’s acting technique and challenge their creativity. Students will prepare this
monologue for presentation at each class and will be expected to give constructive criticism to
their peers as they observe the other performances. Students should wear comfortable clothing
that allows full range of movement and gym shoes or a rubber soled shoe. A short break will be
given during each acting class. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase or the
student may bring a snack from home. Parents and friends are welcome to attend the final class to see the
students perform the scenes they have worked on during class.
